Thank you: you made history on 30 November

I wanted to write all our UNISON members to say a huge, personal thank you to all of you who took strike action, or provided emergency cover on the day of the strike.

You made history. You made your presence felt and your voices heard.

Many of you had never taken strike action before, and I know it was a hard decision to make. But your courage and determination inspired many of your colleagues, and new members were queuing up to join UNISON in the run-up to the strike - and even more so on the day itself.

Our show of strength and unity had the effect that was intended on the ministers, too.

It made them engage in serious negotiations on public service pensions.

The negotiations are continuing and will carry on right up to Christmas and beyond.

We are determined to reach an agreement for a fair deal on pensions for all of you.

Events can change rapidly in these talks, so keep checking our website for up-to-date information on how they are progressing.

Best wishes,

Dave Prentis

THANK YOU
Essex Police Branch Unison would like to say a big thank you to all staff who supported the day of action on 30th November.  A special thank you must go to those stewards and members who were out on pickets lines from 5am.  However everyone kept in good spirits and helped make the day a success.
