Welcome to your UNISON Essex Police Branch website. UNISON represents over 1300 members within Essex Police, including police staff, PCSO's, cleaners, admin staff, traffic wardens and many other roles.

*REFORM UPDATE*

We are currently supporting members through the VR appeal panels. Although these were programmed to take place in early January, some were cancelled by HR and we have now been informed that they should take place on 7^th February.

One of the effects of this delay is that al of the subsequent processes have also been delayed. We are now expecting those staff who have accepted VR to be notified in the next couple of weeks. The Desk Top Selection process and slotting is scheduled to finish by the end of February subject to any appeals.

Finally anyone still displaced will be offered any vacancies from the ‘open list’.

The ‘closed list’ will include any post that is vacant, or where there is a bumping opportunity.

We have been asked if we can do more frequent updates on this website. We update as often as is possible.

The processes and timescales are controlled by HR and it is up to the HR department to communicate any changes to staff. However, whenever possible we will communicate changes as soon as we are advised.
